Bogan Bombshell

Bogan meets cabaret. Can’t be done, you say? You haven’t met Janeen (Susie McCann) from Clarinda – the bogan bombshell who promises with a swagger and gyration that “youse are gunna love it.”
Donning bursleque-gear, with plenty of side-boob and trademark rubber gloves from her Duchess of Dunnies job, Janeen could easily be a relative of Kath and Kim. Citing love for her jailed McDonald’s-employed boyfriend as the reason behind the show, Janeen is belting out the tunes to raise the $178 bail for Jonno’s incarceration from dipping into the Macca’s charity tins.
Slightly kitsch and teeming with Bogan Pride references, Bogan Bombshell is a jammed-packed show with altered cabaret and classic pop tunes to showcase the hilarity of Jannen’s life and love story with bogan twist. From slightly failed ambitions as a burlesque dancer because she “couldn’t get them out,” to internet dating and snagging the sugar daddy of all, the manager of McDonald’s Preston - it is equal parts hilarious and awkward.
Janeen’s talents include the creative use of chux wipes as a boa, and a toilet brush as a seductive bursleque prop, Janeen sings, “There’s more to me to pineo-clean and bleach.”
Classic hits such as Dolly Parton’s ‘9 -5’ become 5 -9, twice a week to make a living. Tales of a Toorak tart who couldn’t remember her name become a very funny take on ‘Joelene’, “Its Janeen.” There’s also An Aero Comes Along (complete with projector of Jannen’s favourite chocolates) and a mash-up of rock hits highlighting her side job as a phone sex operator.
If you’re looking for a small intimate light-hearted show complete with a raffle, youse will get a laugh out of Bogan Bombshell.
